2018 wasn't a very productive year, well to be honest 1990-2018 hasn't all been very successful! Don't get me wrong I have some achievements like passing my driving test, winning first place in a singing competition when I went to Pontins, meeting Nelson Mandela, finally hugging Russell Brand and completely became a fan girl, being able to eat my body weight in many different cuisines.... to name a few. Like most people I am jumping on the bandwagon to say that I want 2019 to be a different year. I feel that I need to push myself as I can happily sit and binge watch many and I mean many Netflix boxsets and not accomplish one thing, other than demolish a KFC burger box meal with extra hot wings and a Oreo krushem. Also the fact that within one day I have been also known to smash through an entire boxset!
Moving on, I have decided that I need to create some goals to jump on the new year new me bandwagon! I put together a list and I chose five goals that I would like to achieve and maybe for once surprise myself by actually completing any of these goals!
Goal 1.... Beginning of Christmas I was being very active and watching what I was eating, but low and behold I caved in and ate like my mother's cat Mya, who acts like if you haven't fed her for four hours she has been starved for a week (her tummy wiggles when she walks). First things first I need to bid farewell to Netflix (well cut down at least) and get myself to the gym around 4/5 times a week. My preference at the gym is lifting weights, cardio is like a swear word to me so to make this goal more of a challenge, I have decided that I will put myself through torture (touch of the dramatics) and do 2/3 days a week of cardio. My old personal trainer Nathan would be proud!
Goal 2.... Over Christmas I purposely didn't let the lover buy any family size chocolates tubs as being just the two of us we would definitely eat through a tub within 2/3 days and unfortunately its hard work to keep weight off for me anyways (Dave has good genetics and is 6'1 while I have shit fat genetics and am 5'3). I want to be more organised by starting a weekly food planner so I can keep an eye on what I am eating (while still using my Fitness Pal to also keep me in check), this will also save some pennies and not waste so much food. Fortunately one of my Christmas presents was the cookbook Veggie Lean in 15 by Joe Wicks the body coach so I will be getting some recipes from there!
Goal 3.... I have a dirty habit (well I have many) but this one is expensive and causes health problems. I like to smoke menthol mostly, which strangely enough people hate but I love. I haven't had a cigarette for 18 days now, though there have been many occasions where I want a sweet puff of a cigarette but I have stayed strong. I would like to carry on throughout this year not giving into temptation with nicotine and all the other lovely chemicals that go into making a beautiful menthol cigarette.
Goal 4.... This goal personally is going to be a struggle and something my mother always nags me about. I need to SAVE! I blame online shopping for this problem and I cannot turn down 20% off at Misguided or Saw it First or at any other retail online website! On the other hand, the money I can save would go towards more important things than getting a home waxing kit (originally 100 quid down to 50 quid) that has been used but was so bloody painful and messy it will never be used again!
Last of all....
Goal 5.... To keep this blog going! I'm hoping that most people are still reading up to this point and haven't found me dull like Theresa May or irritating like Thrush or like Theresa May. I want to be more creative in general as I have come to realise that I have spent a lot of time sleeping, eating, going to work, commuting, watching Netflix and occasionally finding some sort of motivation for like 3 weeks to go to the gym religiously! I have come to the conclusion that this has to stop as I don't want to be known for the woman who has watched every single boxset on Netflix that she had to get Amazon Prime!
